Trey Songz sure doesn’t like being treated like a superstar he is. He walked unrecognized in the streets of Nairobi as he admired the beauty of the Kenyan capital.
Trey Songz is a down to earth person; unlike other top of the cream international superstars who are always surrounded by stone-faced bodyguards, the ‘Bottoms Up’ crooner prefers mingling with fans without a tight security detail ‘suffocating’ him.
Last week when he landed in Kenya for Coke Studio, Trey Songz rode a Rongai matatu instead of a high end fuel guzzler.
Trey Songz was at it again over the past weekend; he decided to stroll down the streets of Nairobi on his own just to know the city.
The American superstar was donning Harambee Stars’ football jersey when he took to the streets. He bumped into a young street boy whom he gave 50 dollars (Kes 5062) before posing with him.
“This little dude was alone with his empty cup in busy downtown Nairobi and he just looked at me and smiled as we were walking. I gave him the equivalent of like 50 dollars. Then I asked him if I could take a picture with him. Something about how big and beautiful his spirit was, while holding an empty cup put a lot of things in perspective for me. Overwhelmed with gratitude in these moments. Love my people so much.” Trey Songs described his moment with the street boy.
