Jared Otieno who allegedly become widely known after he bought a Porsche for KSh 15 million, paid a bride price of KSh 15 million and later held a lavish wedding in Nairobi has been charged with obtaining USD 169,000 from two other men by false pretenses.
The accused Jared Otieno who appeared before Milimani senior principal magistrate Martha Mutuku has been charged with obtaining USD 169,000 by falsely pretending that he was in a position to ship 50 kilograms of gold from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi to Kuwait International Airport.
According to the police charge sheet, the accused has four alias names, one time he is known as Jared Kiasa Otieno, while at other times he is known as Jared Smith Otieno but you can also call him Richard Otieno or Jared Smith Mackenzie Otieno.
The prosecution alleges that on diverse dates between October 4, 2015 and October 31, 2016 in Nairobi County, the accused with intent to defraud obtained USD 169,000 from Mustaq Hefeji Dawood by falsely pretending that he was in a position to ship 50 kilograms of gold from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi to Kuwait International Airport.

Otieno is also alleged to have obtained 40,500 Euros from Mohammed Imad Mokdad between June 2, 2017, and June 13 2017, again jointly with others not before court by using the same tricks but this time ti ship the 50kg gold from JKIA to Beirut city in Lebanon.
