He said this in an interview with Fox News on Saturday, May 13,
“If there were hacker attacks, then who committed them? I want to know the truth, “Trump said, referring to the investigation into the alleged interference in the presidential election in 2016.
“I want them to investigate quickly. But even more, I’m interested in what they investigated correctly, “the president said.
Trump also made it clear that he did not consider it necessary to create a special commission to investigate “Russia’s interference” in the election of the US president. “I do not think it’s necessary,” he said, answering the question about the possibility of such a working group. He also noted that he “does not have anything to do with Russia.”
In the United States, after the presidential election, an investigation is underway of alleged external interference in the election campaign. The initiators of the proceedings, many of whom were supporters of the Democratic Party and its candidate Hillary Clinton, are blaming Russia for a series of cyberattacks against American political organizations. The CIA, the FBI and the NSA earlier prepared a report stating that Russian President Vladimir Putin personally ordered a campaign in order to win Trump’s victory. Moscow consistently rejects all such accusations.
The US leader said that he “wants to get to the inside story” of what happened during the election campaign and is not going to interfere with the investigation conducted by the House of Representatives of the Congress and the FBI.
On May 11, Trump in an interview with NBC denied “secret interaction with the Russians” and stressed that “Russia did not affect the vote,” but spoke in favor of continuing the FBI investigation to “find out if there were problems associated with Russia in the election.” On May 10, White House spokesman Sean Spicer stated that Trump did not object to the investigation.
